First Aid and CPR Training
Per the Department of Developmental Disabilities all respite
providers
MUST
have a valid First Aid/CPR certification before being employed as a
respite care provider. If you
are already certified, please send a copy of your certification to Pacific
Homecare’s office.
In order to help you meet this requirement, Pacific Homecare offers
FREE First Aid/CPR trainings.
The trainings are held once a month and are generally on the third
Saturday of the month. You can register online (below) or by phone at (877) 956-2532 extension 104. If you leave a message, we will contact you within 48 hours for confirmation and details. Please note that this training is free to Pacific Homecare respite providers. However, if you are a parent and wish to take the class, there will be a $20.00 dollar fee. If you need to bring an interpreter and that person wishes to become certified, a $20 dollar fee will be charged. But if your interpreter is just there to interpret, there is no fee. If you register for a class and do not attend, you will be charged $50.00 if you want to register again. Pacific Homecare Services, along with the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI), will work with you to ensure that you fully understand all the material and can receive your certificate. Also understand that you do not have to go through Pacific Homecare Services to get your certification. Pacific Homecare has chosen to provide this service for free. You may take First Aid/CPR training anywhere else at your own expense, Pacific Homecare Services will not reimburse you. Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the class. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Remember to RSVP, and to bring a sack lunch/snack – lunch break is limited to 45 minutes. If you have any questions regarding First Aid/CPR training, please feel free to call at (877) 956-2532 or e-mail at first.aid.cpr@phrespite.com.
